![]() What's worse is that in 7 of these, the governments actively impose the capital punishment for consensual gay acts, specifically: Brunei, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Nigeria, Somalia and Sudan. There are over 70 countries in the world where being gay is an illegal crime. Whilst we are fortunate to come from a part of Europe (UK/France) where being gay means we have almost the same rights as our straight counterparts, sadly there still exist many places where simply being gay can get you the capital punishment. Gay Pride events are as important now as they have ever been.

![]() So about a year ago, I joined a new gym because I was hoping to find a facility with more free weights. My job is really quite boring – I work for a local municipality in waste management (Yes, I’m a garbage man but I get paid really well). I love football and am a diehard Bucs fan. I’m married, have a wife and two children and live just outside of the Tampa Bay area in Clearwater. If I had to describe myself, I suppose I look a little like that actor Grant Gustin from the Flash except I’m a little older at 35. Just to tell you a little about me – I guess I’m your average dude that’s into average guy things. Instead, I’m going to tell you how I ended up falling for a gay guy who I’ve secretly been in love with for over a year. Sorry to disappoint but that’s not what this story is about. You probably think I’m about to share some hot erotic story with you based on the title of this page. But I ended up falling in love with a guy from my gym and I’m starting to question my sexual orientation. I’ve been attracted to women my entire life and have had zero physical attraction to dudes. One detail we’ll mention at the top: The political parties of the past are not the same parties we know today. Then we talked to a few other historians for their thoughts. We reached out to Kevin Kruse, professor of history at Princeton University, who has addressed some of the same claims on Twitter. That’s a lot to unpack, so we decided to break Elder’s statement up into four parts. Maybe Democrats ought to sue themselves for reparations." As a percentage of the party, more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did Democrats. Democrats opposed the 13th Amendment, the 14th Amendment, the 15th Amendment. "Republicans did not own slaves," Elder said. ![]() His remarks came after anchor Ainsley Earhardt called attention to a moment during the June 19 congressional hearing on reparations when former NFL athlete Burgess Owens said he left the Democratic Party because it was "part of slavery." Conservative commentator and radio show host Larry Elder made a series of claims about slavery and civil rights during a June 20 appearance on "Fox & Friends." |
